Jail Officer

Starting Salary: $30,359


The Hampton Roads Regional Jail offers employment as Jail Officers who are primarily responsible for supervision of inmates within their assigned areas.  Jail Officers participate in the day to day operations of the jail and must communicate effectively with a varied population of offenders, including individuals from diverse ethnic, racial, cultural and economic backgrounds.  Jail Officers enjoy a varied work schedule with paid time off, premier medical benefits and participation in the Virginia Retirement System with the LEOS supplement.
